Basic Process Improvement Program (PIP1)
An Introduction to Total Quality Management
This
two day seminar introduces participants to the basic concepts and
tools of Total Quality Management (TQM) and Process
Improvement. The program focused on the practical
application of process improvement and provides the
necessary background to enable people at all levels of the organization
to participate in the development of a quality focused organization
and understand the need for continuous improvement, innovation,
process improvement and the benefits these bring to individuals
and the organization as a whole.
TQM
and Process Improvement are about winning the hearts and minds of
everyone in the organization. It is not about slogans, exhortations,
or management initiatives. Process Improvement is an approach to
business that affects the way we work and benefits everyone
involved.
PIP1
communicates how we need to build upon the three cornerstones of
people, process and product to enable clarity of vision, purpose
and expectations thus ensuring a better result. It also teaches
some of the tools of TQM and process improvement that must be applied
and used and makes them accessible to everyone. PIP1 brings people
together demonstrating how teamwork and common shared objectives
help us achieve the best results.
The
fundamentals of TQM are the fundamentals of business - teaching
us to understand , then meet and learn to exceed customers expectations;
to reduce costs and improve productivity; to improve quality and
performance and to be ready to compete globally.
